Spaceman Movie Plot

“Spaceman (2024)” takes its story from the novel “Spaceman of Bohemia” by Jaroslav Kalfar. It tells the story of Jakub, the first astronaut of the Czech Republic. When the ambitious Jakub is offered the chance to touch the edge of the solar system on a solo mission, he agrees. However, this requires him to say goodbye to his wife Lenka. What’s more, in the aftermath of the explosion, he begins to develop mental health issues due to loneliness, detachment, and the sheer strangeness of deep space. Jakub regrets his departure and begins to wonder if his marriage will survive in his absence.

Luckily, Jakub finds a friend like the alien Hanus, whom he discovers is hitchhiking aboard his ship. A kind of extraterrestrial spider monster and possibly a figment of Jakub’s imagination, Hanus claims to be as old as time itself. Thus, he is able to engage in deep conversations with the astronaut and serve not only as a friend, but also as a kind of marriage counselor.
